Dry-Land Hockey Training

Our dry-land hockey program is designed to help players develop a more explosive, and efficient stride with attention to:

In addition, players will work on stick skills including:

-Head-up stick handling

-Separation of the hands and feet

-Moving pucks quicky into shooting/passing positions

Dry-land training allows for the coaching and critiquing of details in stride technique and stick handling that is often unavailable with limited ice time.

Week 1 of the program will consist of baseline data collection through a number of physical tests that are selected based on their translation to qualities associated with the demands of hockey. This will be followed by 6 weeks of training 2x per week. The program will conclude with retesting in week 8 to gauge the athletes growth.
